Job Description

　　The main function of the role is the continual development of the Dunlop hose range to help meet company targets for growth and profitability, together with provision of general technical support for day to day design, manufacturing and commercial activities.

　　Principle Accountabilities

　　Duties, Responsibilities and Key Tasks

　　Seek out new processes and materials to improve the quality and reliability of DOM products.

　　Provide design services for continual improvement of existing hoses and innovative development of new products.

　　Act as Project Manager for new products from concept to commercial realisation, prototype hose programmes, and expedition of specific orders.

　　Provide technical services for timely progress of all received orders.

　　Prepare technical proposals for Sales quotation purposes.

　　Carry out finite element (FEA) and hydrodynamic analyses.

　　Carry out hose testing in a customer focussed R&D environment.

　　Resolve issues related to hose materials supply and manufacture.

　　Provide client support from office base, with occasional visits to client site.

　　Prepare technical reports.

　　Prepare and deliver technical presentations.

　　Handle Customer Complaints.

　　Define, design and source sundry hose system ancillary equipment.

　　Carry out the job requirements in full compliance with the Code of Conduct.

　　Support and demonstrate the '4 Values' and associated 'behaviours' in carrying out your duties and responsibilities.

　　Learn and follow the safety requirements in relation to your job.

　　Qualifications

　　Educated to degree level or equivalent in a mechanical engineering related subject.

　　Must be competent in technical report writing.

　　Must be a good communicator at all levels.

　　Ability to manage projects and see through to completion.
