Summary:

Supports Perioperative Services patient care delivery for infant through adult patient populations, including providing transportation, assisting with routine patient care in assigned area(s) (i.e. the Pre-Operative Holding Area, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Operating Room), obtaining/delivering equipment, and stocking/cleaning. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:Required:High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.BLS Certification from the AHA, or obtains within 90 days of hire. Must maintain certification.Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effective problem-solving skills.Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:Current State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certificate from the State of Ohio.Current Certified Medical Assistant.Graduate of an approved Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program.One year of patient care experience.

Physical Requirements:May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.May need to sit or stand for extended periods.See in the normal visual range with or without correction.Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance.Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
