REQUIREMENTS:RequirementsSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:1-2 years personal experience with mental illness and/or substance usedisorder with demonstrated competency in personal recovery and use of copingskillsSuccessful completion of the Peer Specialist Training program (orwillingness and ability to complete such training) and ability/willingnessto complete additional training as neededAbility to interact sensitively and effectively with people of differentcultures, backgrounds and with people with degraded levels of functioning.Basic computer literacy skillsAbility to obtain and retain a Driver's LicenseAbility to work as a team memberAbility to work flexible hoursHas an established WRAP Plan, APPR, or equivalent recovery plan
WAGE: $16.01/hr - $18.43/hr

DUTIES:POSITION SUMMARY:Peer Specialists serve as part of the treatment team and provide peer supportservices to clients on an individual basis and in peer led groups. PeerSpecialists provide services in an office setting, in homes, and in thecommunity.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Works with the treatment team to enhance support for clients by functioning asa peer role modelExhibits competency in their personal recovery and use of coping skillsWorks with client to draft wellness and recovery plansCo-facilitates psycho-educational groups, and facilitates wellness groups,skill building sessions, and other activities that support and strengthenclient's recoveryCoordinates client's access to community resourcesSupports and teaches clients to advocate for servicesAssists by arranging transportation to community resources, and transportsclients when directed by supervisorParticipates in meeting and in-servicesParticipates in supervision sessions.Performs other job duties as assigned
