With a heritage of technological excellence, our team serves customers in the communications, defense, medical, industrial, and scientific markets.Job Title: PCB DesignerKey Responsibilities for this Role:Develop PCB schematics collaboratively with our design engineers Layout complex PCBa to engineering specificationsSelect and document PCB manufacturing specifications (e.g. materials, plating, stackup)Analyze the electrical and thermal requirements for PCBs (e.g. determining required trace widths, via counts, etc.)Generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for PCB assembliesCheck PCB manufacturing drawings versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standardengineering drafting practices and standardsCreate Engineering Change Notices detailing the necessary changes to released designs, updatesdrawings/models/BOMs Create and maintain libraries of schematic symbols and PCB footprints that conform to internal standards
Requirements:Capture of electronic circuit information in circuit schematicsLayout of physical PCBs based on schematic information and mechanical design constraints Schematic symbol and PCB footprint creation and library maintenanceGeneral knowledge of design principles and techniques including computer aided design (CAD) Basic knowledge of PCB materials (e.g FR4 materials, high-TG, Rogers RF materials, etc) Basic knowledge of PCB finishes (e.g HASL, ENIG, Immersion Silver, etc)Understanding of PCB assembly and manufacturability requirements (e.g. panelization, fiducials, tab routing and V-scoring, etc.) Understanding of IPC design requirementsAble to accept and integrate constructive feedback on design (i.e. working in an iterative design process)Demonstrate the ability to weigh reasonable risks and make progress in the face of uncertaintyGood written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on documenting rationale for design choicesAbility to multi-task and manage priorities between a small number of projectsBasic Qualifications:Minimum Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Drafting, or equivalent technical discipline.Minimum 2 years of PCB design experience (design experience may include both professional and significant educational/personal projects)
Qualifications - Optional:While not required, additional consideration will given to exceptional candidates with significant experience in one or more of the following specialty areas: Experience specifically with RF and Microwave PCB designProficiency specifically in Altium DesignerExperience in the use of 3D Mechanical CAD tools (SolidWorks)Experience in the use of 2D Mechanical CAD tools (AutoCAD) Higher layer count design (8/10/12 layers)Medium ball count (200-500) BGA based designMultiple high current high density buck regulators on single board Differential pair routing and memory systems (DDR variants 1, 2, 3, 4). High speed design PCIe/SATA/USB - rules and stackups.
