A Place to Be Proud.ResponsibilitiesProvides excellent customer service to patients and families by applying best practices and standard operating proceduresInterviews and registers patients in registration areas that report up through Patient AccessObtains accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information on registrationsScreens customer data to ensure patient is eligible for insurance indicatedCommunicates differences to the customerScreens registrations to ensure insurance pre-certification and physician referral requirements are metInstructs customer on requirementsAssists in identifying self-pay patients and referring them to financial assistance when applicableInstructs customer on requirementsEstablishes and maintains open communication with the all departments that Patient Access interacts with and clinical staff in those areasAssists in the shadowing/precepting of new employees.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Education:High school graduate. Associates degree preferred.Certifications: CPR certification (based on position and as determined by manager).Skills:Demonstrated computer skills required with the ability to navigate most current technology systems.Strong administrative skills required.Excellent customer service and organizational skills.Ability to multi-task within a stressful environmentExperience:One-year previous health care experience preferred.Minimum Physical Requirements:Occassionally 1-33% (0.5 TO 2.5 HOURS): Squat/kneel, Reaching above shoulder, Driving motor vehicles (work required), Lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs., Pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs., Exposed to blood and/or bodily fluids, Loud noisesFrequently 34-66% (2.6 TO 5.0 HOURS): Bend/twist, Utilizing patient equipmentContinuously 67 -100% (5.1 TO 12 HOURS OR GREATER): Standing, Walking, Sitting, F
