  What You’ll Do

KBR is looking for highly motivated rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students seeking science, engineering and software development opportunities that provide challenging and meaningful work experience to be a part of our 2024 Intern class.

As radio frequency weapon (RFW) systems become more advanced, analysts need a way to better represent information in reports; text and tables are cumbersome for this task. This internship project will develop software to better visualize specific aspects of RFME data. A tool, or tools that graphically represent the information are desired. The goal for this project is to develop a plan as to how this may be accomplished and to develop the initial concepts. Future enhancements will likely include the ability to feed data into the simulation system and view events in a time series.

As a National Security Solutions Intern, you will:

Create a plan to visually represent certain parts of RFME data in Preliminary Data Reports (PDRs) and Detailed Analysis Reports (DARs)

Execute plan to develop initial concepts of software tools to implement visualization plan

Deliver report summarizing project activities and results that may be presented to government customers for further development

Selected interns for this paid opportunity will be provided with the opportunity to mentor with experienced professionals, gain experience and establish a name for themselves in this high demand career field.

  Anticipated Skill Set:

Skills and experience in and/or related to high-power electromagnetic technology and/or software development.

Computer science software programming experience with MATLAB, Excel, and C++

  Technical writing and briefing skills

Comfortable with documenting plans and results in Word or PowerPoint

Major field of study: Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Software Engineering (preferably background and/or coursework in the areas above and/or related to Electromagnetics and/or Radar)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: Average 40 hours per week.

  Requirement:

  Must be a US Citizen

Must pass a Security Pre-Screen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
