This work depends on initiative, timeliness, and a high degree of accuracy. The Metrology Technician will be based at our main office located in Deer Park, WA with some travel to jobsites required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThese duties are those typically performed in this position. Employee may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties.Metrology TechnicianUtilizes Laser Tracker to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines and areas for constructionand mechanical alignment purposes.Use Laser Tracker to align components to machine coordinates and tolerances as well as for documenting existing conditionsWork with points in a 3D Cartesian Coordinate SystemCreate scatterplots and charts in Excel to clearly showcase dataExperience with Metrology Equipment and SMR Reflector MeasurementsFamiliarity with Point Cloud data, Point Cloud processing, and creating mesh surfaces from Point Cloud dataMechanical DesignerSupports projects through CAD 3D modeling and the generation of drawings using AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Microstation in accordance with contract requirements. The modeling and drawings are required to communicate everything from part details to the construction site model with the installation instruction set required to meet the customer's objectives and KCS quality and efficiency standards.Execute requested technical modeling and drawings based on project requirements, specifications and/or calculations or other project team sketches andEnsure all completed drawings are accurate prior to reviewComplete redline as built changes.
