JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description: SUMMARY The Senior MechanicalEngineer will work in collaboration with all stakeholders, manageoverall project scope, goals, and produce deliverables that supportbusiness objectives. This position will lead multiple parallelinitiatives from kickoff through successful implementation. They willpartner with Strategic Corporate leaders, Engineering,Quality/Regulatory, and Certification teams to drive project design,facilitate best practices, and ensure cost, financial, schedule andperformance goals are met. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actas technical lead on multiple complex, integrated projects utilizingadvanced engineering design methods. Ensure systems integration andcontinuity of system architecture roadmap across multiple discreteprojects. Develop and drive an innovative design process to ensuredevelopment activities meet standards for quality, cost, and delivery.Create electro-mechanical part and assembly designs using parametric 3DCAD tools, with emphasis on mechanical function, structural analysis,aesthetic design, intent implementation, and compliance with relevantregulatory requirements. Contribute to product risk analysis, usability,verification, and certification test efforts in pursuit of medicalproduct certifications. Oversee development of prototype mockups andfabrication of working prototypes. Incorporate requirements ofLeadership, Product Development, Clinical Verification,Quality/Regulatory, and Certification teams to understand andcommunicate project challenges and develop innovative solutions. Reviewtooling designs to verify the quality of fit and finish implementationas well as supporting manufacturing partners to resolve issues duringdesign transfer and transition to mass production. Design and reviewmanufacturing test fixtures and procedures, review and approving initialproduction samples, analyze and test field returns to determine rootcause of failure and proposing and implementing corrective actions.Guide team leaders throughout the project by delegating tasks andproviding coaching as needed. Identify and escalate issues/risks facingProduct Development Teams and work with cross functional managementteams to develop solutions. Organize and lead project updatepresentations and design reviews, preparing visual materials fordescribing complex engineering concepts (such as screenshots, photos andvideos) for internal team, supplier and sales/marketing communication.Continuously improve the process by researching and proposing innovativetechnology enablers (e.g. materials, components, and processes)Recognize and target potential areas for IP protection and work withlegal team develop patent applications. .
