Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
Design, build, and test prototype systems for future consumer VR and AR experiences.
Utilize textile expertise and experience to develop novel manufacturing processes from concept to pilot-production, delivering reliable, high-performance textile-based hardware prototypes.
Drive Manufacturing Engineering team and activities in XFN work environment.
Scale state-of-the-art textile-based hardware prototypes from concept to pilot-production volumes.
Grow in-house textile manufacturing capabilities and external soft goods manufacturing partnerships.
Raise bar for manufacturing excellence and best practices by developing, and continuously improving, processes and relationships which empower researchers and design engineers to build increasingly complex wearable systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Master's degree in Textile Design, Textile Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field and three years of work experience in the job offered or a product engineering-related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following:
Scaling processes to pilot-production or mass manufacture, and implementing quality control procedures to resolve processing problems for low and high-volume consumer products
Manufacturing techniques for soft wearable devices, including textiles, polymer processing, lamination, and adhesive bonding
Designing and implementing process development plans, designing of experiments (DOE), establishing critical process parameters and quality control strategies
Designing and producing wearable technologies
Mass production of systems requiring multiple manufacturing processes such as soft goods cutting, laminating, ultrasonic welding, or knitting
Designing for manufacturing, assembly, or reliability
CAD, such as SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, Creo or NX
Project management directing priorities to XFN team to meet schedule milestones and stakeholder requirements

$156,185/year to $184,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
