Job Responsibilities
• Lead strategy and team management across critical control-related frameworks and constructs and their connectivity with other programs: CORE, Risk Stripe Communities, Common Process
• Be accountable for timely and successful delivery of milestones and deliverables for the specific initiative. This will include determining the approach and execution of the initiative / set of goals and partnering closely with a diverse set of key stakeholders to achieve the goals and objectives of the specific initiative.
• Lead discussions across lines of business, 1st and 2nd line of defense, senior management and regulators to ensure deliverables / initiative meet the required objectives
• Provide transparent and clear status, issue and risk disposition, escalating any issues associated with the initiative, as needed, on a timely basis.
• Ensure all areas of the initiatives adhere to JPM frameworks, policies, and standards
• Develop positive working relationships to maintain an open environment for collaboration
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 15+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, risk management, or compliance preferred
• Strong knowledge and background in controls management, process improvement, issues management, and audit best practices
• Strong understanding of regulatory and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to draw conclusions from data, tell a succinct story and influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner; effective presentation ability in all settings
• Superior diplomacy, influencing and negotiation skillset
• Outstanding networking, collaboration and relationship building skills
• Ability to successfully navigate, influence, and lead collaboratively in a complex infrastructure that involves numerous groups and individuals.
• Proven process analysis and design acumen. Ability to understand a process and associated risk to inform control design, robust critical thinking and problem solving ability, attention to detail and analytical skills:
o Understanding root cause / identifying control gaps and weaknesses
o Developing timely and sustainable solutions
o Analyze metrics for emerging risk
• Essential implementation skills including developing written action plans and procedures as well as change management capabilities
