Freedman Seating is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer. This position is responsible for identifying and driving initiatives to continuously improve our manufacturing process. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a “hands on” work environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead/execute continuous improvement and product improvement.
Lead/provide failure analysis, root cause analysis and problem solving of manufacturability issues
Lead/Provide support for root cause analysis and problem solving of manufacturing quality issues.
Interface with manufacturing to ensure design for manufacturability and continuously improve alignment between product design and process capabilities.
Provide equipment support including troubleshooting issues, knowledge of operation and training
Develop new manufacturing process and improve existing processes
Provide CAM programming assistance
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Computer and CAD/CAM solid modeling skills (Solid Edge preferred).
Previous experience in project planning and execution.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated self starter with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
Hands-on knowledge of Manufacturing processes
Understanding the functions of a Press Brake, Punch Press, Lasers, Assembly, Robotics a plus
