A Manufacturing Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Pontiac, IL area. The Manufacturing Engineer applies engineering principles to enhance industrial processes, specializing in time and motion studies, blueprint interpretation, quality assurance, and efficiency improvement.

responsibilities:
Study time, motion, methods, and speed to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas to determine quality and reliability standards.
Verify records adherence to quality assurance specifications by reading worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets.
Aid in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams illustrating workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
Observe workers using equipment to ensure adherence to quality assurance standards.
Determine time involved and fatigue rate of workers using timing devices.
Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Skills:
Creativity, verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
Team player and detail-oriented.
Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Previous experience with engineering-related computer applications and software, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
5-7 years of experience required.
