Expectations:
Primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of IP rehabilitation services, including the development, implementation, maintenance and compliance with departmental programs, policies, procedures, regulatory compliance and protocols. This position is responsible for the oversight of IP rehabilitation staff which includes staffing model, performance evaluations, mentoring, training and corrective actions. Responsible for assisting the Director in supervising, planning, coordinating and evaluating patient care and employee performance. Ensures effective departmental operation and support staff with challenging issues, delivery of therapy programs to patients and serves as first-line support/resources for employees, physicians and patients. This position requires flexibility of hours. EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited from either discipline: Masters degree in Physical Therapy, DPT is preferred; or Masters in Occupational Therapy; or Masters in Speech & Language Pathology Program; or Masters in Healthcare Administration. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: A minimum of 3 years experience as a therapist. Minimum 1 year previous supervisory/management experience required, 2 years preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Required: Current unrestricted Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist License issued by the State of California Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association SKILLS: Demonstrate high level of personal and professional accountability and responsibility. Self directed and performs duties independently. Ability to apply critical thinking to problem solve. Must demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate daily work flow to ensure departmental needs are met. Must be flexible, dependable, and demonstrate the ability to change.
