Description

　　DOSTA org provides testing support for Amazon Device Operating Systems. Primary objective DOSTA org is to provide manual and automation test support.

　　Over 5 Device OS components will have an extension in HQ2, the incumbent will act as Team lead for these components.

　　Key job responsibilities

　　Job summary

　　Manage Device Associate I and Device Associates II. Will report to the Manager II or Manager III

　　Own test execution service delivery for a set of components and/or features

　　Allocate resources and distribute daily tasks to meet short-term workload targets and business goals

　　Responsible for planning and procuring the hardware, software, and other infrastructure for day-to-day operations

　　Make sure your team is in compliance with operations requirements

　　Manage problems effectively, unblock DAs and escalate when needed

　　Partner with Quality Assurance (QA) and engineering teams to meet their delivery expectations and timelines

　　Highlight deviations and communicate issues as they arise

　　Drive effective team and stakeholder discussions on testing scope, process, procedures, and methods

　　Understands team operating metrics, prepare detailed reports and write-ups

　　Play a key role in identifying and providing recommendations to improve team efficiency

　　Contribute to operational excellence initiatives and encourage your team to do so

　　Hire and train of new Device Associates

　　Communicate employee performance expectations, help each set development goals, monitor their progress, and provide coaching and feedback

　　Manage both high and low performers effectively

　　Create and implement performance improvement plans (PIPs) when required

　　Promote employees when they are consistently demonstrating at the next level capabilities

　　Address employee concerns

　　About the team

　　DOSTA consists of 450+ TAs and it's primary work location is at Chennai India. In 2022, DOSTA expanded its operations to HQ2, Arlington (22 TAs projected for 2022). Device OS Test Associates (DOSTAs) over the years have become an integral part of all Device OS software releases & new product launches. We aim to ensure not only that we exceed the goal of delivering reliable testing services, but also prepare ourselves to create a long-term value for different products by offering end to end testing services. Our stakeholders are mainly in China and US. DOSTA works on 4 major product families(Tablets, Fire TV, Audio Products and E3OS devices) as well as non FOS like ACS, Smart Home products etc. DOSTA Chennai currently supports over 131 devices (Tablets, SMP, Smart TV, AuCC, e-Reader, Auto, Remote and accessories, Sound bar, Ring and smart home devices). DOSTA works on both manual and automation testing. Automation Support involves scheduling Automation suites, analyzing results/logs, re-running the failures suites manually and cutting JIRA on the failures. While the QA team is tasked with providing test coverage and signing off on the overall software product quality – the Fire OS DA team charter is to support QA and other teams by ensuring high quality software is delivered for each program milestone. The mission of DOSTA is to deliver the defect free product to customers.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　2+ years of team management experience

　　Knowledge of Windows desktop environment and use of Word, Excel, IE, Firefox etc.

　　Experience using data to influence business decisions

　　Experience an operations, project or program Manager directly managing and developing front-line managers

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Experience in quality assurance/testing/mobile industry/internet of things (IoT)

　　Experience managing project delivery
