JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Supervisor directs therepair and maintenance of existing equipment and grounds and directsactivities in new equipment installations and grounds modification. TheMaintenance Supervisor is responsible for all activities that occur inthe Maintenance department and maintenance-related activities throughoutthe plant including coordinating task lists for and facilitating annualshut down. The Maintenance Supervisor will be the first point of contactfor the plant in relation to building or equipment issues, and thereforemust be available to the business 24 hours/day. The MaintenanceSupervisor will also be an emergency contact for the Facility and isexpected to work as an emergency coordinator with emergency services.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leads a team of direct reports andaccountable for all on-site facility & maintenance contractors. Directsthe maintenance repair of plant equipment, machines, buildings andgrounds and manages the work order system. Maintains all necessarymaintenance records and prepares required reports to monitorproductivity, OEE, and PM effectiveness. Drive improvement. Collaboratewith Technical Department Engineers, Production Supervisors, TeamMembers, and others. Contracts with outside vendors for equipmentrepairs and abnormal maintenance. Assures that all contractors aretrained in safety matters and that insurance certificates are on file.Develops and controls budget for all maintenance areas. Forecastsmaintenance plan (personnel, equipment and space requirements).Maintains a preventive maintenance program for machines, equipment,buildings and grounds. Must maintain PM records for all equipment andrecommend changes to improve OEE based on trends. Establishes anadequate inventory of replacement and repair parts for equipment andmachines. Oversees procurement of necessary parts. Participate inestablishing, maintaining and training an effective plant emergencyorganization. Responsible for the hiring of maintenance personnel.Evaluates new employees and oversees the training of new employees,apprentices and trainees. Assists in training and developmentmaintenance personnel. Ensures training in safety procedures and ensuressafe work practices are adhered to. Completes annual performance reviewsand monitors performance of personnel. Assist and partner with businessleaders on implementation of process improvement (Six Sigma / LeanManufacturing), including leading change initiatives, planning, andfacilitation.
