Job Profile:
As a Senior Performance and Capacity Architect with Kyndryl, you will play a vital role in managing performance and capacity for complex mainframe systems to support business growth.
To lead mainframe performance and capacity management to optimize performance on the client environment.
Goal is to reduce MSUs on mainframes is to eliminate the peak of night-time batches and during times of busy on-line transactions.
Job Description Needs
Must have 7 plus years of experience in the following areas:
To analyze application, Deep knowledge of z/OS performance and capacity for business applications running on z.
To analyze application, Skills for z/OS utilities, common logs and data SYSLOG/JOBLOG/SMF/RMF etc., application analysis tools (ADDI, Strobe, etc.) are required.
To analyze application, Deep knowledge and rich experience of programing such as COBOL, PL/I, JCL, CLIST, and related compiler options, Language Environment, etc. are required.
To create solutions, Skills for batch job scheduler such as TWS, A-AUTO, etc. are required.
To create solutions, Deep and rich experience for application development to reduce CPU consumption and to eliminate peaks in processing work load especially batch processing.
To understand application details, Skills for CICS, Db2, IMS, MQ, etc are preferable.
An understand of IzPCA as this will be the global performance toolWorkload Manager (WLM)Performance tuning of Websphere, CICS, DB2, IMS subsystems and z/OS operating systemDASD Subsystem tuningReal-time monitoring by using BMC’s Mainview or IBM’s OMEGAMONSMF data processing by using MICS, MXG and SASAble to extract data from TDS/IzPCA and analyze for making recommendationsMainframe Capacity planning and Management which includes forecasting, projections, LPDEF set up, Group Caps, Hard Caps, Soft Caps & Absolute Capping Set up, Capacity trending analysis and Workload Analysis with historical SMF data and making recommendationsAble to lead and manage capacity planning team and provide guidance/ direction
Setting up capacity health checks for monitoring trends, identifying exceptions and resolving issues
Able to manage and lead the teams and be a technical mentor/managerAble to prepare presentations for senior management and present observations & recommendationsAble to manage weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly meetings with internal teams, senior management and application teams on capacity analysis and provide recommendationsAble to manage capacity inventory and provide weekly updates to senior managementAble to set up Cognos reporting portals and effectively use them in capacity analysisSetting up and Administrate CPM (Capacity Provisioning Manager) for dynamically activating CPU capacity to support sudden spikes in business volumesAble to manage capacity during DR/SRs eventsExcellent analytical and presentation skills
