Job Description

Position Summary
This pivotal role will ensure that our aspirations to improve and build on our logistical capabilities are met. Working as part of a close-knit team of five, you will ensure that critical shipments of pharmaceutical products are made on time, on budget and, crucially, in full compliance with global financial and pharmaceutical rules. You will make sure that patients get their medicine and help to develop our network of manufacturing and distribution partners as well as improving our own competence.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Work closely with distribution partners and carriers to understand the current arrangements; participate fully in plans to improve the network and work closely with them on planned new launches and geographical expansions
· Administer and manage shipments of active ingredient, semi-finished and finished pharmaceutical product between production sites and distribution partners in a compliant and cost-effective manner
· Ensure that all legal and financial rules in respect of these shipments are complied with in full; ensure that all relevant aspects of every shipment are documented
· Be part of a team which is responsible for pharmaceutical compliance, up to and including preparations for regulatory inspections and internal audits and take the lead on compliance matters to ensure timely completion
· Become capable of covering for any other member of the team in case of planned or unplanned absence, and ensure that your role can be covered in return
· Liaise with internal customers to develop a shipment forecast that can be used to pre-alert the chosen carriers and minimize shipment delays
· Develop effective working relationships with commercial, financial, quality and regulatory groups to enhance the team’s reputation as an effective partner and to facilitate continuous improvement
· Be prepared to troubleshoot at short notice and to recommend long-term fixes for problems encountered
· Possess an in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical Good Distribution Practice, and use it pro-actively to improve compliance
· Bring, or quickly develop, an in-depth knowledge of the rules pertaining to product serialization in pharmaceuticals, and use that knowledge in the planning of new products and country launches
Requirements
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or relevant apprenticeship preferred.
Professional Work Experience Requirements
Five years’ experience in international logistics with healthcare background preferred.
Experience and Skills
· Experience of taking responsibility for shipment enablement, including all relevant international paperwork
· Experience of Trade Compliance preferred.
· Direct experience of pharmaceutical or medical compliance
· Experience of meeting product serialization needs in a pharmaceutical environment.
· Experience of working with international partners
· Skills in MS Office essential; skills in ERP system preferred for later date.

Location
· Remote within UK is acceptable.
Travel
· Some foreign travel may be required (tbc) – possibly 5% of the time.
