The Learning Advisor Sr Grp Mgr is responsible for aligning the Learning agenda with Cluster Heads, their LTs and HRAs / other HR disciplines. In depth understanding on the global learning agenda driven by products / functions and the ability to Position the local voice / nuance at global management tables. An In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function, and ensuring implementation of global solutions and initiatives locally, with high acceptance levels and quality.
Ability to Enhance understanding and acceptance of learning, development and culture solutions within allocated clusters.
Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas, including a thorough understanding of learning related regulatory requirements for each country.
A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.
Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for allocated team, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an intergral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing Learning and Development for Citi employees across a region/product/function. The occupant of this role
Works closely with business partners to develop and implement a learning and development strategy in alignment with the global learning agenda.
Establishes strategies and solutions that are directly linked to organizational and business goals by building and maintaining strong partnerships with key business leaders, SMEs, and vendors to drive performance improvement and behavior change.
Understands relevant business and HR priorities/needs and identifies key opportunities for capability building, performance improvement, cultural development, to maximize overall impact across their region/product/function
Provides management and consulting to Human Resource and business partners and proactively identifies and prioritizes the L&D opportunities to support successful business outcomes.
Develops learning and development strategy for their region/product/function and regularly validates the strategy with their region/product/function leaders. Leverages existing material / solutions to deliver against the regulatory needs. Design new material / solutions when nothing relevant exists, in partnership with relevant discipline (LEAPS, Culture etc)
Leads the analysis of current versus future state gaps, identifies root causes, determines the appropriate solution and how success should be measured
Markets, evaluates and communicates the impact of initiatives with HR / Business partners
Regularly monitors and communicates progress with HR / Business partners and navigates any variation in expectations with them
Collaborates with colleagues across HR to provide integrated experience for region/product/function partners
Develops the strategy for consistently measuring the effectiveness of training
Stays abreast to latest external market trends and anticipates their impact on future capability requirements for their region/product/function
Forms part of the management team for region/product/function area. In smaller locations or organizations, may be the most senior executive covering the area.
Leads and manages a team of L&D professionals.
Is responsible for end to end learning budget for their region/product/function learning team
Facilitates offsites at specific leadership levels per global guidance, conducts NLAPs for senior leaders and delivers learning / culture sessions as needed
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience
Must possess leadership, organizational design and talent development skills and to ensure appropriate staffing and organizational structures are in place for their organization
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
Self-motivated and detail oriented
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred and managerial experience
