Position Summary
Renewables EPC and O&M Supply Chain is seeking a Lead Sourcing Specialist to support strategic solar and energy storage Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC) and O&M initiatives in Florida, Midwest and the Carolinas. Primary responsibilities are sourcing and category management of EPC contracts with some operations & maintenance (O&M) follow-up. This position will require the candidate to develop strategic sourcing solutions that increase availability of supply and lead to successful on-time completion of projects This is the fourth level of the Sourcing classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve complex solutions, manage work, and provide leadership to others with minimal supervision and increased latitude for unreviewed work.
Responsibilities
Plan, develop and execute sourcing strategies for EPC project which ensure reliable and safe deliveries on schedule and at a competitive cost for Solar and Energy Storage generating facilities.
Perform market analysis and research best practices successfully adopted by other industries and companies.
Provide guidance to Business Unit and Supply Chain leaders on market conditions and sourcing options that will help us maintain a competitive position in the industry.
Develop and manage supplier relationships and programs.
Build and nurture client relationships, including executive level business interfaces. Mentor and assist in the development of sourcing personnel, processes, and procedures, exhibiting a leadership skillset.
Required/Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree + 7 years' work related experience OR
Associate's degree + 9 years' work related experience OR
High School/GED degree + 11 years' work related experience
Desired Qualifications
Certified Purchasing Manager and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management
Experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives for equipment and/or labor
Experience preparing market solicitation documents and conducting competitive market processes
Basic understanding of operations of solar and battery storage facilities (including current market challenges)
Experience negotiating large dollar and complex contracts
Expert financial analysis experience and skills
Experience managing high value supplier relationships
Experience working in a cross functional team structure
Advanced presentation skills
Experience with RFP tools and EAM systems

Working Conditions
Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the assigned Duke Energy facility.
