PositionOverview The Specimen Processing Lead provides leadership support to theSpecimen Processing team. This role acts as a subject matter expert inspecimen handling and operations. This role follows all laboratorypolicies and procedures and maintains accurate data reporting practicesto ensure consistent and diligent execution of specimen processing. Thisrole supports the Specimen Processing Supervisor or designee and sharesthe responsibility of ensuring the specimen processing departmentoperates effectively. The functions of this position are performed underthe guided direction of the Specimen Processing Supervisor or designee.Shift: Sat - Mon, 6p-630a Essential Duties Include, but are not limitedto, the following: Perform primary responsibilities listed belowcompletely, timely and accurately: Serve as point of contact in the labfor daily operations, balancing workflow and optimizing throughput.Monitor specimen storage and workflow reports and resolve issues.Organize and co-lead routine team meetings and huddles as needed.Identify and propose improvements to the specimen processing workflow.Maintain documentation of problems and problem resolutions followingGood Documentation Practices (GDP). Review and update standard operatingprocedures (SOP) to accurately reflect current processes. Performregular maintenance, troubleshooting and error reporting on automationand lab equipment. Support and occasionally co-lead cross-functionalinitiatives across multiple departments. Support operational initiativesincluding, but not limited to, quality and process improvements, SOPdevelopment, department inspections and audits. Handle and dispose ofall specimens following universal precautions and applicable safetypolicies. Support and comply with the company\'s Quality ManagementSystem policies and procedures. Ability to perform leadershipresponsibilities below: Support all specimen processing laboratoryoperations. Foster communication and teamwork within the SpecimenProcessing department.
