Job Duties : This position is responsible for developing and administering all programs and projects of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission to educate, encourage, and involve Arkansans in protecting and improving the state’s natural environment. Supervises a professional and administrative support staff by interviewing applicants, making hire or termination recommendations, training, assigning, and reviewing work, and evaluation the performance of incumbents. Creates and establishes projects and programs to educate and inspire improved environmental behaviors by Arkansans and promotes community environmental improvement. Develops Commission strategy and budget to meet objectives and provide for the Commission’s general management and operation. Administers the Keep America Beautiful system in Arkansas, managing activities to network communities and representing the state in national programs. Creates policies, procedures, and activities to accomplish legislative mandated objectives. Communicates mission objective information through publicity, promotion, media advertising, educational outlets, and public appearances. Develops statewide activities to implement and sustain community, government, and civic partnerships. Follows and supports state laws and agency policies and coordinate mission related activities with other appropriate agencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The formal educational equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in business, natural science, marketing, communications, or a related field; plus, four years of experience in business management, project development, or a related field, including two years in a supervisory capacity.

Summary

Minimum Qualifications
