Job Description Summary:
The Product Manager (PrM) is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the Texas A&M University System Office's Financial Resource System, FAMIS, and associated and integrated applications and programs. The "FAMIS" PrM will thoroughly understand the functions and features of the various integrated platforms and applications, as well as have a basic understanding of financial accounting. In combination with this knowledge, the PrM will research industry/best practice features and functions; communicate and interact with Members to ascertain potential changes and improvements; and work closely with the appropriate team(s) to develop and schedule enhancements.
Responsibilities:
Defines a product vision and align stakeholders around the vision.
Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop a long-term vision and strategy for complex IT services and products.
Communicates the strategy and achieve buy-in from all relevant team members and stakeholders. - Understands and represents customer needs. Acts as the voice of the customer inside the division.
Interacts with a broad range of stakeholders and teams to ensure a product's success.
Identifies opportunities to develop and improve the business through the effective use of technology. - Prioritizes new features and product improvements, balancing the needs of customers and stakeholders. Makes sound decisions based on data.
Leads prioritization efforts while considering trade-offs between customer experience, business impact or ROI, performance, and post-launch support requirements. - Develops strategic, prioritized product roadmap(s). Optimizes products to achieve business goals while maximizing the university's return on investment (ROI).
Designs, develops and manages activities from product definition and planning to production, release and eventual retirement. - Defines and tracks success metrics to analyze product performance and identify areas for product improvement. Turns relevant data into information to help improve products.
Monitors, analyzes, and acts on key analytics to continually improve the product, and streamlines internal processes as possible.
Translates data gathered to build a case for decisions in the product roadmap and consistently highlights evidence-based decision-making in all communication. - Works cross-functionally to communicate the timely and quality release of products and/or enhancements.
Drafts product communication to technical and non-technical audiences about new and updated products.
Works closely with the System's and OIT's marketing and communications teams to ensure System Members are aware of all products and services. - Works with OIT trainers to identify training needs to support customer success.
Leads user testing and participates in QA testing to ensure the release of high-quality products and services. - Works cross-functionally and strategically to ensure the timely and quality release of products, services, features and/or enhancements.
Leads product management activities by delegating work as needed to assigned project/team members.
Provides a solid understanding of technology processes, the level of effort required, and the steps involved in a product launch to ensure work is delivered on time.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business or accounting, or in an industry-related field such as economics, communication, computer science, etc.
Five years of related experience .
Customer Service Experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Knowledge of project management and/or business analysis good practices.- Team player who collaborates well with others.
Occasional travel and work outside of scheduled hours.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in business or accounting, or in an industry-related field such as economics, communication, computer science, etc.
Minimum of five years experience with the TAMUS FAMIS platform within the past ten years.
Minimum of three years experience in other management roles where skills such as problem-solving, decision making, time management, communication, and leadership were exercised regularly and successfully.
