　　Job Mission

　　The Opto-Mechanical Engineering Intern shall assist with the design, testing, development, and troubleshooting of next-generation optical and opto-mechanical metrology sub-systems for the creation and control of EUV radiation.

　　This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

　　Calculating mechanical tolerance stack ups, specifically as they effect optical alignmentAnalyze the mechanical and thermal stability of optical assemblies using FEA and other analytical tools.Contribute to the development of alignment and assembly processes for optical instrumentsCollaborate with other engineering groups such as Optics engineers and Systems engineers on optical sub-assembly design.Collaborate with vendors on the fabrication of mechanical parts, mechanisms, and opticsAble to read optical and/or mechanical drawings.Collection and documentation of mechanical engineering best practicesInternship project responsibilities can be partially determined by the candidate's interest area(s) and background.Other duties as assignedJob description subject to change at any time

　　Education and Experience

　　Must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Optical, or closely related areas of engineering and physics.

　　Some experience / knowledge of / familiar with designing or working with mechanical parts (machined, sheet metal, molded) and mechanical assemblies.Some experience / knowledge of / familiar with CAD software packages (solid modeling and detailed drawings), NX preferred.Some experience / knowledge of / familiar with finite element analysis (FEA) software packages, ANSYS preferred.Awareness of GD&T and mechanical tolerance analysis and its fundamentals.Hands on fabrication and integration of mechanical assemblies or mechanisms is a plusSome understanding and exposure to manufacturing equipment would be ideal (CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, etc.)

　　This position is located on-site in San Diego California. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

　　The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $17.00 - $53.00. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
