*Job Summary*
Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc (BPMI) is seeking a motivated professional to join our Security team as the Industrial Base Classification Officer. The Industrial Base Classification Officer is an individual designated to administer the classification program for BPMI's supplier base, with lead to establish and monitor the classification programs of suppliers and subcontractors under BPMI cognizance.
The Industrial Base Classification Officer will direct and support all aspects of the classification program at BPMI suppliers and subcontractors and collaboratively engage with the BPMI Classification Officer and other Program and DOE classification officers while supporting the BPMI mission. This position offers the opportunity to lead the interpretation and application of security requirements for both DOD and DOE, while working with a broad range of technical and business support communities. The Industrial Base Classification Officer is an appointed position, requires initial training provided by the DOE (Classification Officer, Derivative Declassifier), continuous professional training provided by the DOE Classification Training Institute and routine consultation and alignment with other classification officers.
*Roles and Responsibilities*
Manage the Supplier and Subcontractor Classification Programs.Develop and conduct classification training for Derivative Classifiers which he/she appoints in accordance with applicable guidance.Ensure all classification training and awareness briefings satisfy requirements of DOE Orders.Appoints, trains, and monitors supplier and subcontractor Classification Officers or Derivative Classifiers to classify documents generated by the supplier, subcontractor and predecessor organizations.Ensures supplier and subcontractor Derivative Classifiers have appropriate and current classification guidance.Develop and provide guidance on classification, document markings and policy requirements.Prepare lesson plans and conduct training and mentoring for classification and information security.Conduct investigations and inquiries on classification topics, including development of recommendations to mitigate information security threats.Analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine protection requirements and actions needed in accordance with Executive Order 13526 and the Atomic Energy Act of 1954.Be knowledgeable of NNPP program classification guidance documents and directives and use this knowledge to perform manual and electronic classification reviews and documented determinations.The duties and responsibilities of this position requires the ability to interact professionally with personnel at all levels within the organization, collaborating and consulting with subject matter experts as necessary.The Classification Officer may also support security plan development and reviews and application of classification guidance to complex designs and systems.*What You Can Expect*

Must be a Derivate Classifier (DC) within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.BS Degree in Engineering from and acc edited college or universityA minimum of four years of relevant experiencePreferred requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-Access Authorization.Experience working with government agency requirements and policies.Experience with detailed document reviews, auditing and compliance to requirements and procedures.Excellent communication skills and willingness to develop and provide training.Be willing to travel to suppliers up to 25% to perform training and monitoring of the supplier base.*Why BPMI?*
