Job summary
As a Testing Lead you will utilize various skills to test high quality commercial HVAC equipment, manage/develop a team of Testers and meet the needs of your customers. You will test a variety of components, subassemblies which may / will start from basic components to a completed piece of equipment with defined testing parameters.
Responsibilities/daily tasks
• Lead and manage a team of HVAC testers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Conduct thorough testing of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation components.
• Develop and implement testing protocols and procedures to meet industry standards.
• Analyze testing data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Coordinate testing schedules with Production, ensuring timely and efficient testing of HVAC systems.
• Evaluate system performance, efficiency, and safety according to company standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot defects or malfunctions in HVAC systems.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure proper assembly and electrical functionality.
• Utilize testing equipment and tools to measure airflow, pressure, and temperature.
• Document and oversee test results, create detailed reports, and maintain accurate records.
• Recommend necessary repairs or improvements based on testing outcomes.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to implement design improvements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during testing procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Abide by all internal United CoolAir polices to foster a safe, efficient, and exciting work environment.
Qualifications
• EPA 608 universal certification.
• College or trade school certificate in HVAC field.
• Proven experience as an HVAC Testing Lead or in a senior testing role.
• Previous work experience in a fast paced, and dynamic manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and components.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of testing equipment and tools used in HVAC diagnostics.
• Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Experience and ability to work in a team setting.
• Ability to work successfully with multiple business functions of an organization.
