Summary You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) for the Small Business Administration (SBA), People Operations Disaster Division (PODD). The employee serves as a Human Resources (HR) Specialist providing HR advisory and program services to a Center or equivalent Center level office or to subdivisions of a Center. Responsibilities As a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) at the GS-0201-9/11, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a technical support specialist, performing extensive troubleshooting of existing databases. Applies high-level data systems skills and practical HR management expertise. Analyzes system capabilities to apply automation means to accomplish presentations, data retrieval and to prepare written guidelines and recommendations relating to personnel or payroll system projects. Troubleshoots system problems, including operation failures, provides emergency assistance, and administer system interpretation and guidance. Works with department and across the HR organization to interpret, collaborate, and/or resolve issues. IMPORTANT NOTES: This is a remote position. Your primary residence is considered your official duty station. Selectees residing within the local community areas (within 50 miles) of and SBA office in the following cities Atlanta GA, Buffalo NY, Herndon VA, Fort Worth TX, and Citrus Heights CA may be required to report to an SBA office based on the work demands determined by the level of disaster activity. This is a Term Appointment, which is a Competitive service position and does not confer competitive status, reinstatement rights, or eligibility for non-competitive conversion to a permanent job to the individual(s) selected. You may be promoted or reassigned to another term position within SBA's Office of Capital Access; however, you may not be non-competitively appointed to another Federal position. You will be given an initial Term Appointment up to 1 year, but not more than 4 years. If all other conditions of employment are met, this appointment may be extended, up to a total of four (4) years in increments determined by SBA. If selected, employees work on an intermittent (on-call) work schedule. This means that employees are in a pay status only when activated to respond to workload needs, especially in response to heightened disaster activity. When no longer needed, employees return to a non-pay status until the next event necessitates additional staff. However, depending on the workload and/or level of disaster activity, your work schedule may be changed to full-time. Subsequently, if the workload decreases, your work schedule may be changed back to intermittent. Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster survivors, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required while on assignment (up to seven days a week and twelve to fourteen hours a day).
