　　DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:Nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor has an opening for a Health and Safety Officer to support remediation projects in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh area).  This position reports directly to Sevenson's onsite health and safety professional and Director of Health and Safety and indirectly to the Project Manager.

　　The daily duties typically include:

　　Support site management in implementing the site's Safety and Health PlanPerform job site inspections to identify existing or potentially unsafe conditionsAssist with investigations for near miss, injury, or property damage eventsHelp with identifying root causes and assist supervision/management in developing corrective actionsCoach workers to properly follow risk mitigation strategies and effective use of PPEAssist with preparation of activity hazard analysis for upcoming tasks as well as audit existing activity hazard analysis for accuracyPromote a workplace with a positive safety culturePromote eliminating at risk behaviors through coaching and alternate methodologiesExecute emergency preparedness plan procedures and policiesConduct real time and integrated air monitoring as well as heat stress and noise monitoringEstablish exclusion and contamination reduction zonesProcure necessary PPE and other resources to support implementation of the safety programSKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

　　Able to perform real time and integrated air monitoringAble to identify workplace hazards and recommend abatement strategiesOSHA 30 hour Construction or General Industry Outreach Course preferredOSHA 40 hour and subsequent 8 hour refresher HAZWOPER training preferredCurrent first aid and CPR/AED training certificate preferredMust have valid driver's license and have good driving record (motor vehicle record reviewed as a condition of employment)Must be able to pass HAZWOPER physicalDesignated safety sensitive position, medical or recreational marijuana not permitted
