About Fleet Vendor Manager, ATS Fleet

  Description

Amazon is looking for a detail-oriented, people focused, analytical, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Vendor Manager (12 months Full time Contract) to join the Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Fleet team and drive performance within our transportation network in the United Kingdom. As a Vendor Manager (FTC) on the Fleet team, you will be responsible for managing the relationship with external vendors and accountable for monitoring and improving the performance of the repair and maintenance events of the transport fleet in the UK. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful relationship management, be an effective leader and communicator, and have experience in setting out data-driven vendor performance strategies.

  Key job responsibilities

  · Own vendor relationships and performance on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as per contracted Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  · Track existing or set up new metrics as required to validate vendor performance.

  · Lead negotiations with the vendors setting new KPI’s and service level agreements based on organizational requirements.

  · Liaise with vendors in daily meetings to understand issues and barriers to meeting performance targets

  · Develop and implement performance improvement plans, working cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders

  · Actively opportunities to ensure sufficient capacity coverage keeping pace with business requirements.

  · Report on performance in weekly and monthly forums with senior leadership.

  · Setting measurable targets that align with the overall goals of the organization.

  · Undertake continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with vision for fleet vendor management for the future years.

  · Be an ambassador for Amazon to external stakeholders.

  · Build expertise in the understanding of logistics and transportation assets.

  A day in the life

A day in the life of a vendor manager starts with looking into the vendor’s trailer repair & maintenance performance, deep dive to understand if there are any misses from the vendor’s end, provide feedback for the same and build plan to increase the vendor’s performance to ensure lower downtime of the trailers. Also, interact with internal stakeholders for different projects undertaken for the year based on the Big Rocks for the Fleet Team. A vendor manager also looks into the invoices shared by the vendor for the work done and approves the same for the payment.

  About the team

Amazon couldn’t deliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As part of ATS, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success. Using air, sea and road transport, as well as sortation centres equipped with the latest technology, you’ll help Amazon’s transport run at maximum efficiency.

The Fleet team within ATS manages Amazon's 10,500+ trailers and trucks used to get packages to their destination. Our aim is to make it the safest and most reliable fleet on the road, with this role contributing to maximizing fleet uptime through managing our maintenance vendors.
