Consultants please conduct a seated interview. Applicants must have 20days experience with Farm / Irrigation / Livestock work. Applicantshired must be able to obtain a valid driver\'s license as driving onpublic roads may be required. Applicants must be able to lift up to 100pounds. Dates of need are (3/16/2024 11/30/2024). This order is for workin Carey, Idaho area. Job duties may require a split shift such as 8:00AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 to 6:00 PM as well as evening and/or nightshifts spanning two calendar days due to crop demands. Worker will berequired to perform a variety of duties related to the production ofalfalfa, grass hay, oat hay, sheep and beef cattle. The majority of thework activities during the overall contract period, however, will berelated to general farm work/irrigation/crop production. General FarmWork will include the following responsibilities: maintain, drive,attach and farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant,cultivate, fertilize and harvest crops; operate loader, make minormechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery; may mix and/orspray chemicals (according to appropriate restrictive use laws, when/ifapplicable); remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farmgrounds; remove rocks from field; paint farm structures; replace/repairfencing; perform general clean up of farm areas; drive, load/unloadtrucks; operate motor bike or all-terrain vehicle in the course ofperforming duties. Irrigation duties will include the following: Handlines: connect pipes; check alignment of pipe and adjust for properwater distribution; attach lines to water supply; turn on pump; turnvalves to start flow of water; disassemble lines and carry pipes acrossfields at specified intervals; move pipes through freshly irrigatedcrops and/or plowed fields where mud may be deep at times; lift andcarry pipe sections weighing approximately 40 pounds on a sustainedbasis. Pivots: push on switch that activates circle sprinkler system;maintain pivots. Flood Irrigation: lift gate in side of floodedirrigation ditch/pipe permitting water to flow into bordered section offield; shovel and pack dirt in low spots of embankment or cut trenchesin high areas to direct water flow; close gate in ditch/pipe whenbordered section is flooded; open gate or connect pipe to undergroundpipe system that releases water flow into reservoir or ditch; shovel orhoe soil to clear ditches/furrows and build embankments to appropriatelychannel water; mix and apply proper solutions to fill holes/cracks inpipes, ditches, and spillways, and make minor repairs to metal,concrete, and wooden frameworks in pipe and ditch valves and gates.Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes/wheel lines from storage and layout/place in predetermined patterns in fields; lubricate, adjust, repairand replace parts such as sprinkler heads and drive chains using handtools; observe revolving sprinklers and adjust to ensure properoperation and uniform distribution of water; disassemble, service andstore pipes/mainlines/wheel lines after irrigation season. To meetminimum acceptable performance standards when irrigating, the workermust, after a 10 day conditioning period, move an average of at least 4840-foot sections of 3-inch pipe or 44 40-foot sections of 4-inch pipeper hour under normal working conditions. Duties related to theproduction of livestock will include the following: check physicalcharacteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply theappropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rateof weight gain or to determine delivery time, assist in delivery; applyor administer medications, vaccines and/or insecticides; mixfeed/additives and feed/water livestock; place mineral blocks; driveequipment to hau /distribute feed/water; maintain water troughs; herdlivestock; confine livestock in stalls; repair/clean/disinfect livestockcorrals/stalls/sheds; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamplivestock; maintain records on animals; hoist/stack bales of hay ontowagon/truck
