Farm Laborer
This position is responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations of the farm in a safe and cost effective way.

Basic math skills are essential.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Must be able to distinguish color.
Be able to work by self.
If required to drive a company vehicle must pass MVR.
Good written and verbal communication.
Good reading skills.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner.
Follow all of the company’s rules and regulations for bio security, animal welfare and safety.
Work productively with Farm Manager and peers in building an effective team.
Follow the directives of the Farm Manager and Serviceman.
Be willing to help in any area to get the job done.
Work with a variety of tools and equipment.
Have the ability to push, bend, stoop, squat, pull and lift 50lbs or more
Successfully work with live animals.
Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.
Perform the duties of the job while constantly moving and using hands, occasionally lifting objects while being exposed to dust, cold, humidity, heat, chemicals and fumes.
Effective time management.
Ensure the safety of Select Genetics assets under the position’s management.
Follow and enforce all company regulations pertaining to bio security, animal welfare and safety.
Work an extended work day, if needed. Schedule varies and some weekends are required.
Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Lead, train, motivate, and mentor employees on the farm with the objective of building and maintaining a high performing unit to meet or exceed production goals.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Does not own or operate around backyard poultry operations off duty.
Knowledge and/or experience of animal husbandry and welfare preferred.
A valid Missouri Driver’s License and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record if needed.
Bi-lingual Spanish speaking skills a plus.
