General Responsibilities:
Assist with load testing of driven piles. This will include physical requirement of lifting up to 50 lbs., recording data from dial indicators, working around heavy equipment (excavator and/or backhoe), working outdoors in various weather conditions and working out of town for extended periods (up to 10 days at a time).
Communicate with project manager, client representative, and others as applicable regarding the project site, project requirements, and field exploration requirements. Adhere to strict safety standards.
Additional responsibilities may include Coordinate field activities for geotechnical projects. This may include coordinating utility locates, marking boring locations, overseeing site clearing activities, and scheduling drill crews and traffic control as needed. Logging bore holes will be required for some projects. In addition, the job will require coordinating with property owners and clients for site access
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Under supervision of the staff professionals, assist on tasks associated with field or site exploration activities.
Communicates information to Project Manager and other team members.
Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
Maintains assigned equipment.
Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Excavator operator experience a plus, but not required.
Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Ability to utilize basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
