POSITION PURPOSE
The Energy Production Support Services Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the Company safely, reliably, and efficiently delivers its energy-related products. This role directly contributes to the overall success of the utility Company through the support of key reporting, analysis, systems, coordination, and operational functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting : Generates reports on various energy production metrics, system performance, safety, budgeting, and other required critical data. Performs QC reviews of data and communicates findings to management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies as required.
Analysis : Regularly monitors energy production data, processes, and systems to ensure optimal performance. Analyzes data to ensure accuracy, and identifies trends, anomalies, and potential issues.
Process Optimization : Documents existing processes and identifies opportunities for improving energy production efficiency and reducing operational costs. Proposes and implements strategies to enhance overall performance.
Technology Integration : Stays abreast of advancements in energy production technologies. Plays a key role in supporting the adoption and integration of new technologies that can improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
Emergency Response Support : Assists with the development and implementation of emergency response plans for unexpected events that may impact energy production. Participates in drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.
Coordination : Collaborates with various teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to coordinate activities that impact energy production. Ensures seamless communication to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Administrative Support : Performs various administrative duties (e.g., inventory and procurement tasks, scheduling, safety, and O&M tracking) to ensure successful daily plant operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, mathematics, data analytics, or related field strongly preferred.
Three to five years of related experience ideally in a regulated utility, energy production, or similar environment.
Knowledge and Skills
Analytical Skills : Proficient in data analysis and interpretation. Able to use analytical tools and software to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
Communication : Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to various stakeholders. Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
Continuous Improvement : Proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency.
Adaptability : Able to adapt to changing technologies, industry trends, and operational requirements.
Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of energy production processes, equipment, and technologies is strongly preferred.
Regulatory Compliance : Familiarity with or demonstrated ability to learn energy regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements relevant to the utility industry.

JOB LOCATION
The position is primary onsite, and office days are in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, where MGE is an active participant in community efforts to preserve the area's extraordinary quality of life.
