Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Defines people relations strategy, policy and tools, in close collaboration with legal team
Builds methods for the investigation, tracking and reporting of employee related issues.
On occasions conducts and documents a variety of HR investigations in concert with department managers and HR Business partners.
Initiates corrective actions and solutions at all levels (from individual to corporate wide) to address the root cause of employee relations issues.
Defines and implements strategy related to ongoing relationship with union as well as specific CBA related events such as negotiations and contractually mandated communications.
Provides strategic direction for the entire grievance procedure including activity related to outside involvement (i.e., mediation and arbitration)
Participates in the defense of all charges both internal and external.
Advises Senior Level and Executive level employees on administration of CBA.
Communicates to represented leadership on management contract interpretation and changes.
Assess and reports on key metrics related to represented workforce and CBA.
Provides information and insight on Labor Relations and Union activity in the overall marketplace.
Is the primary designer of CBA changes related to negotiations
Takes a primary role in ensuring a union free environment is those locations where workers are currently not represented.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Extra consideration given to those with JD
Direct experience with CBA negotiations a plus
10+ years’ Employee relations experience including direct labor relations experience in a manufacturing setting required .
Proficiency in investigating and addressing employee relations issues, regardless of how those issues are brought forth.
Proficiency in interpreting and applying NLRA and Labor Relations rules and laws – likely gained over a confirmed experience
Strong oral & written communication skills.
High level of analytical ability for solving sophisticated problems.
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
High level of conflict Management experience.
Understanding of safety and environmental practices.
Ability to analyze data and build reports.
Strong digital literacy
Multi location experience preferred.
International union (Trade unions & work councils) experience preferred.
Knowledge of methods for keeping business union free is strongly preferred.
