The Director of Contracting Excellence owns the sales contract and quotation process by leading a team of Contract Quarterbacks and Coordinators . The team is responsible for supporting the field sales team members by monitoring and managing all quotations and contracting documents through internal processes, including quote document generation, legal reviews, financial analyses, customer establishment and new customer set up, credit checks and approvals and hand off to instrument and product order entry.
This position will work closely with finance, legal, accounting, shipping, and various other departments to ensure timeliness of delivery and accuracy of materials provided .
Primary Duties:
Deliver operational productivity by following service level agreements and established parameters
Oversee and direct activities of contracting quarterbacks and coordinators by ensuring pricing accuracy and consistency in accordance with US commercial pricing guidelines and the financial approval matrix
Support and lead correspondence with Legal, Business, and Finance regarding all contracting activities including: government contracts, beta agreements, material transfer agreements, RFQs, RFIs, RFPs and bids.
Support, Train, and Direct contracting team members for all document related processes including, but not limited to: complex sales materials, facilitating customer account creation, vendor registration, quotations, contract administration, etc.
Manage team finalizing the creation of proposals, contracts and quotations for field sales teams. Ensure that all business requirements are met and delivered to field sales.
Provide support and direction to contracting coordinator team regarding best practices, quality, responsiveness and approving proposals/agreements.
Develop and Maintain ties and relationships with Finance and Legal to ensure seamless team interactions in the creation of contract documents and materials to promote delivery to SLA established parameters
Direct Sales Operations in actively supporting Sales Management with all activities aimed at increasing sales, quote generation, vendor registrations, etc.
Work with various departments to resolve issues, such as shipping, materials, production, finance and legal
Maintain effective and supportive communication with field sales team members to continuously improve customer satisfaction
Exercise independent judgment in actions regarding Company matters and in accordance with company policies or customary procedures
Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMerieux’s Quality System
Performs other duties as assigned
Training and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business , Science, Marketing or related field .
Experience:
5+ years of experience in field sales, marketing, or another relevant commercial function
5+ years of management experience over a commercial sales or operations team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent analytic skills and demonstrated experience in analyzing and synthesizing data to make informed decisions using Excel and other tools.
Must have contact management database experience (preferably SalesForce CRM) and computerized accounting software packages (preferably MAS500 and SAP).
Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operations levels.
Experience demonstrating priority management, attention to detail and problem solving and solution implementation skills required.
Requires familiarization with all bioMerieux products, in-depth knowledge of customer accounts and a working knowledge of SAP, Salesforce.com and related quoting, contracting, and business management tools
