Director, Assistant General Counsel – Global Privacy / Product (Hybrid)
Reporting to the VP, Deputy GC & Chief Privacy Officer, the Assistant GC – Global Privacy/Product is responsible for leading privacy & product function for Omnicell. This player-coach role will have primary responsibility for: (i) global privacy program compliance activities; (ii) strategic advisory and product review for new products / functionality; (iii) advocacy of privacy by design principals in product offering structure; (iv) data governance advisory; and (v) ecosystem partner negotiation and implementation. This role will work closely with the commercial legal team, product organization, and the finance, quality, compliance, and sales organizations. This is a US-based role.
Responsibilities:
Manage, review, revise, and maintain the global privacy compliance program
Structure privacy go to market strategy, including privacy by design principals and data governance.
Negotiate and review contracts for ecosystem partners (e.g., data feeds, reseller, integrations, co-marketing, etc.)
Coordinate workflow, manage resources, and maximize the output of the team by channeling work to appropriate persons, standardizing processes, and leveraging technology solutions.
Develop, motivate, and provide strategic leadership to attorneys and legal professionals.
Implement training strategy for business stakeholders on evolving best practices.
Liaise with product & quality team on product lifecycle on proposed offerings and strategic advisory.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Deep understanding of HIPAA/HITECH, state level privacy laws and regulations, and GDPR
An inspirational leader and team player who collaborates effectively both within the legal team and cross-functionally across the business
Strong initiative and ability and willingness to learn and seek information independently
Ability to think critically to identify issues and to offer pragmatic, actionable solutions

Ability to lead cross-functional teams, and be persuasive up, down, and across the organization
Demonstrated courage to do what is right, champion good ideas, make tough decisions, and take unpopular stances if required
Basic Qualifications:
J.D.; member in good standing of a state Bar
10+ years of substantial experience in privacy advisory, data governance, and privacy compliance programs
5+ years of experience with SaaS and professional services offerings and data governance
3+ years structuring or maintaining global privacy compliance programs
CIPP/US, CIPP/E
Preferred Qualifications:
CIPM
Healthcare industry experience
Product lifecycle management
Work Conditions:
Hybrid - periodic in office or in shared office space
Flexibility in working hours as needed
Travel up to 20% (primarily quarterly stakeholder meeting or legal team meetings)
