Position Description:

Are you passionate about seamless and secure file transfers? CGI is seeking a talented Data File Transfer Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team. In this role you will leverage your expertise to configure and support IBM Connect:Direct, File Agent, Control Center, Web Services, and Secure Plus and ensure smooth and secure file transfers across various platforms.

Our full-time opportunity can be performed from Bloomfield or Hartford, CT, Raleigh or Cary, NC, Austin or Rollingwood, TX, Philadelphia, PA or Lafayette, LA in a hybrid model.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Configure and provide support for IBM Connect:Direct, File Agent, Control Center, Web Services and Secure Plus, ensuring seamless and secure file transfers.

Provide product and scripting support on several OS platforms including Mainframe, Windows, Linux, AIX and AS400.

Work with customers to schedule and automate IBM Connect:Direct file transfers to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Collaborate within an IBM Control Center to monitor and remotely manage Connect:Direct operations.

Perform basic Linux UNIX shell scripting to optimize processes and workflows.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IBM Connect:Direct and file transfer processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful data transfers and system integration.

Maintain documentation for configurations, scripts, and processes for future reference.

Provide expertise and guidance to team members on IBM Connect:Direct and related technologies

Exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives.

Participate in on-call rotation and support activities in a Production Support environment.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Proven experience with IBM Connect Direct, demonstrating a strong understanding of its configuration and support.

Solid grasp of Linux-UNIX and Windows operating systems, administration activities, and networking concepts.

Experience with scripting using JCL in Mainframe environments.

Familiarity with IBM Connect Direct on Clusters for high availability and fault tolerance.

Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Ansible Tower, Jenkins, or similar tools.

Experience with automation framework/language/engine like Ansible.

Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Prior experience in a Production Support environment, handling critical operational tasks.

Strong analytical skills to assess and optimize data transfer processes.

Good experience with ITIL concepts and any hands-on experience in ITIL tools, especially in Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration management areas.

AWS or Equivalent Cloud Skills or Experience.

Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical degree.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $60,300- $146,800.
