Mission Statement
Jacobs is seeking a qualified Information Technology (IT) professional to support the USSOCOM SITEC II Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. Your career at Jacobs enables USSOCOM to fulfill its mission to “Provide fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests and synchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks.” As a member of our team, you will support the vice president of the Enterprise Operations Group (EOG) as we partner with SOF military and civilian members to provide world-class IT services and support that connects over 60,000 users around the world in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, security, end-user computing, and test and evaluation.
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Architect with a strong background in project management to support USSOCOM’s Global Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP). The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of current cybersecurity practices and trends and possess the ability to lead and interface teams efficiently. This role serves a dual function: as middle management and a technical subject matter expert. Your insights will be invaluable in refining the work of our cybersecurity engineers and analysts, ensuring that it meets the highest standards before being presented to leadership.
Technical Oversight:
· Analyze and evaluate the technical solutions and recommendations provided by cybersecurity engineers and analysts.
· Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the cybersecurity domain, providing insights, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
· Identify gaps, potential risks, or vulnerabilities in proposed solutions and recommend improvements.
· Ensure that cybersecurity solutions align with the company's business objectives and IT architecture.
· Continuously monitor the cybersecurity landscape for emerging threats and ensure that the organization's defensive mechanisms are updated accordingly.
· Collaborate with vendors and external partners to understand the capabilities and limitations of security solutions, ensuring optimal integration with internal systems.
Project Management:
· Lead and guide cross-functional teams through the cybersecurity project lifecycle.
· Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and milestones.
· Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
· Liaise with other departments and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication across the organization.
Middle Management:
· Interface between the technical teams and senior leadership.
· Facilitate team meetings, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration.
· Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
· Offer strategic recommendations to leadership, based on a clear understanding of the company’s cybersecurity goals and the industry landscape.
Technical Implementation & Support:
· Perform hands-on tasks, including configuring security tools, setting up firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security solutions.
· Troubleshoot and resolve security breaches and vulnerabilities. Collaborate with the technical team to ensure swift incident response.
· Proactively monitor systems for any anomalies, using advanced tools and techniques.
· Research and recommend new security technologies and best practices to strengthen the organization's security posture.
Here’s what you’ll need :
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A Master's degree will be a plus.
· Required Certifications: (DoD 8570 IAT III and IAM III)
o Project Management Professional (PMP)
o Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
· Preferred Certifications:
o GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
o GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)
o CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP)
o Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Administrator
o AWS Certified Security – Specialty
o Microsoft Security Operations Analyst
o Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security
· Knowledge and Training in Palo Alto, Splunk, Trellix ESS, and Cisco Firepower is a plus.
o Endpoint Security Solutions Trellix ESS 201 & 301
o ACAS Operator and Supervisor course

o .MIL DNS Proxy (Menlo)

· Minimum of 6 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with at least 3 years in a leadership or architect position.
· Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, with a certification such as PMP being an advantage.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions
Work Environment
Work will be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
Work assignments vary based on client requirements.
Work may include travel with the military to participate in exercises in austere conditions
Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, icy, and windy climates.
Physical Requirements
Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
May require climbing, working at heights, and in small confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods. Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.
Equipment and Machines
General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.
Operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment.
May require operating motor vehicles.
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is mandatory.
It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
You may be asked to continue performance in support of a war, contingency, or exercise
You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work
Position may require night and weekend work and could include travel with the military to participate in operations/exercises located in areas with field conditions
Travel
Continental and overseas travel may be required. It is important to maintain a current passport.Other Essential Functions
Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.

Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. The candidate must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Grooming and dress are usually business casual but dependent on the client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
