Duties:
The individual who functions in this position must carry out all of the day-to-day functions associated with being a CF Operator with Architectural Welding. To qualify, an individual must be able to perform all of the following:
Produce product as described in the shop orderRecognize repeat customer orders and identify specific customer requirementsMaintain each press according to maintenance procedures and diagnose and perform routine preventive maintenanceAccept responsibility for all press tooling, including tool service, maintenance and set-upCheck raw material for adherence to job requirements and detect improper or defective materialAdhere to all quality control/assurance proceduresIdentify and separate all scrap alloys properlySelect proper die and punch comboSelect and apply proper lubricationDetect when a tool needs to be servicedCompare shop drawings to shop orders for accuracyDetect incorrect setup of program and advise programmerResponsible for keeping work area clean and free of debrisPosses the ability to set up and operate CNC Press BrakeConstruct jigs and fixtures as requiredWeld on all types of metalsPerform difficult welding processesSetup, layout and perform welding operations on fixtures and assembliesPerform welds with gas, electric, carbon arc or brazeUse burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials to size and shapeQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalentTrade/vocation certification preferredAbility to pass a basic math skills test1-3 years' experience operating CNC equipmentRequires ability to read a ruler, micrometer and set calipersMust possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawingsAbility to program basic shop ordersAbility to call up existing programs in Tops 300 (in-house system) to process jobsBe able to hold extremely light tolerances and weld, grind/polish to an extremely high cosmetic standardRequires the ability to weld using processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAWRequires ability to pass DT Testing, and read welding symbols and blueprintsAbility to certify/qualify in at least one of the following: ASME, S.S. Plate Position (2-F) or Aws Pipe Position (2-G)2+ years' experience in cosmetic welding in an industrial/manufacturing environmentQualifications Desired:
Technical or trade school coursework2+ years of mechanical or machine operation experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
