About Country Manager India

  Based in Hyderabad and reporting to the VP Global Sales, the Country Manager will develop and grow a dynamic team to support a $15M business and lead a team of 50+ associates including sales, Business development, marketing, customer service, applications, distribution and DBS, with dotted line responsibility for Human Resources and Finance. The individual will manage the P&L in India for growth and profitability.

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Operational

  Drive all business activities to achieve business strategy goals, profitable growth and operation in India – and manage the profit and loss (P&L) contribution target for the country, revenue, market share, unit sales, and launch plans for new products.

  Partner with leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, both globally and regionally, to ensure business growth, exceptional customer care and support the identification of innovation opportunities and unmet market needs for the respective market segments within India.

  Ensure 100% compliance in all aspects of business conduct internally (e.g. the Code of Business Conduct, IT policy, compliance to our insurance policies, etc.), or externally facing (e.g. Regulatory, financial and tax law, health and safety law etc.).

  Ensure use of DBS and other tools for direct planning, monitoring, problem solving and reporting of results against plans and budgets

  Ensure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but also owned by the management team and other employees.

  Engage and support product rationalization of both Phenomenex and Agela offerings to maximize Growth and margins globally.

  Strategic

  Develop a vision and strategic plan for the India business based on historical performance and understanding of the marketplace.

  Develop and implement go to market strategy of all Phenomenex and Agela product offerings in India.

  Contribute to senior management’s knowledge of product/market status in India through the regular submission of Business intelligence and sales reports.

  Advise the Leadership team at Phenomenex of Business Development functions, of local market activities and opportunities, and facilitate transactions in the India and global markets.

  Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders relevant to the Phenomenex business in India.

  People Development

  Attract, develop and retain a diverse and inclusive team.

  Ensure clear responsibilities and drives accountability at all levels.

  Inspire team to exceed expectations through the development of incentive programs and team activities to drive engagement.

  Develop talent within the team to ensure effective succession planning and career advancement.

  Success in this role will be measured by:

  Achievement of targets– predominantly contribution but also appropriate metrics to support the contribution e.g., units, market share, revenue, expenses.

  Support and drive continuous improvement mindset and for all processes and practices within India through DBS.

  Expansion and development of the India business annually

  Create an inclusive and collaborative culture across the India team.

  Effective management of the expense budgets

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or similar required, MBA desired with 15 years of work experience and at least 10 years in a leadership position.

  Entrepreneurial approach to business activities with demonstrated strategic and analytical skills.

  Experience of working within an international company with a matrix organization.
