  Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will prepare, research, revise, and updates Marine Corps legal assistance policy guidance. You will provide administration interpretations and analysis of policies and directives affecting the nature and delivery of legal assistance to all entities, including senior Marine Corps leadership. You will provide field support to and acts as information clearinghouse for eleven (11) Marine Corps installation legal assistance offices CONUS and OCONUS. You will manage practice aids and resources, develops, updates, and distributes publications and software, and “backstops” legal assistance attorneys on case-specific issues. You will be responsible for the drafting of Immigration and Naturalization Practice Advisories for distribution throughout the Marine Corps legal community. You will coordinate with the IRS, the Defense Finance Accounting Office, senior members of the other Services’ legal assistance programs, and other member organizations representing the Department of Defense in tax matters. You will enhance recognition of the Marine Corps legal assistance program and elevate the effective delivery of legal assistance services to service members, their families, retirees, and other eligible clients. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Depth, breadth and quality of experience in legal policy issues; high quality of complex litigation experience; experience supervising attorneys; demonstrated excellence in legal analysis; excellence in written and oral communication skills; and interpersonal skills necessary to work cooperatively and effectively on difficult tasks under significant time constraints with people of diverse interests. Supervisory Attorney Advisor provides legal assistance to CONUS and OCONUS offices to service members, their families, retirees, and other eligible clients beyond the day-to-day legal practice. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Successful applicants must have graduated from a law school that is accredited by the American Bar Association, be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia, and be admitted to practice before a state or federal court. U.S. citizenship is a requirement of the position, and the successful applicant must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance. Law Degree and Bar Membership: Incumbent must have graduated from a law school that is accredited by the American Bar Association, must be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia, and be admitted to practice before a state or federal court, of good character; and in full compliance with continuing legal education requirements of an appropriate bar. The incumbent must maintain this professional qualification at all times as a condition of employment. Additional Information The public notice announcement is for anticipated vacancies to be filled under the Expediated Hiring Authority (EHA) for acquisition positions located at Department of Navy installation identified in this public notice. Positions may be filled as permanent with a full-time work schedule. Pay will vary by geographic location. Telework and remote work upon supervisor approval. Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) may or may not be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
