Fellow, Climate Resilience and Finance ResilientMass is currently seeking qualified candidates for a contract employment opportunity as a Fellow, Climate Resilience & Finance. This fellowship will provide professional work experience for graduate level students, recent graduates, or others seeking to gain first-hand exposure to different aspects of climate resilience work that is currently conducted by EEA’s Climate Team. The fellowship will run from approximately January through June, though it has the potential to be extended past this time. The exact duration of an individual’s fellowship may vary depending on the successful candidate’s availability. The Fellow will work directly with the Deputy Director of Resilience & Finance and other members of MVP and EEA’s Climate Team to support several exciting new initiatives and other items as they arise. Duties in the following areas: - Assisting Deputy Director with research and content development for federal funding applications, exploration of new funding mechanisms for state resilience efforts, and other initiatives - Developing content related to the 2023 ResilientMass Plan - Supporting a project to develop and implement metrics to measure the impact of ResilientMass initiatives, including funded projects - Assisting Deputy Director with managing the process for interagency grants that advance priority actions in the 2023 ResilientMass Plan - Updating presentations with current data - Additional relevant work assignments Enthusiasm, Eagerness to Learn & Professionalism Enthusiasm about a particular subject area, eagerness to learn and professionalism are often more important for interns than prior subject matter experience. However, applicants studying or working in the climate resilience, finance, sustainability, or environmental science, planning, and policy fields are encouraged to include information about relevant education and experience within their application packet. Preferred Knowledge and Skills: - Strong project management and teamwork skills—ability to take a project concept and seek out the answers and resources needed to run with it (with guidance and support!) - Interest in climate change adaptation and resilience - Dedication to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion—and applying these principles to government advancement of climate solutions in partnership with communities - Interest in the role of government to lead, innovate, and support around climate adaptation and resilience action - Ability to collaborate effectively with a range of internal and external colleagues - Strong writing and research skills with a high level of attention to detail First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
