Description:
• Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as spectroscopy and HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography)
• Conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of chemical intermediates
• Operation of experimental laboratory test equipment and procedures
• Understanding and following the instructions and specifications of engineers, scientists, chemists, and other researchers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and work demands
• Learn and understand standard test methods
• Assist in the creation of new test procedures as necessary
• Selecting and setting up the required lab equipment for tests, experiments, and analyses
• Preparation of chemical solutions and buffers
• Document test results per lab standards
• Maintain and follow proper storage of lab supplies
• Service and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Keeping the laboratory neat and clean and sterilizing all work surfaces and equipment
• Willing to learn and understand the background of project / task
• Willingness to work in an environment with a broad area of equipment and processes
• Work on multiple projects and priorities in support of project teams
• Work in both team environments and independently
• Utilize online request system for lab assignments and submission of reports
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• AAS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Engineering
• 2+ years of prior experience in a laboratory
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of lab environment, safety practices, and cleanliness
• Strong analytical, observational, and time management skills
• Commute to the office daily
Prefered Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry
• Experience in writing technical reports
• Comfortable with using hand tools
• Knowledge of test and measurement equipment
• Good interpersonal and communications skills
