Your Impact:
We are looking for a Chemical Management Coordinator (CMC) for the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project (SFHP) Facility. The CMC coordinates with Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) Environmental and Waste group personnel to ensure that all chemicals arriving on-site for use on the SFHP are approved prior to their arrival. The CMC ensures chemicals are stored in accordance with all SFHP site-specific procedures and performs walkdown inspections of storage areas. The CMC will provide guidance as needed to subcontractors to establish and maintain Chemical Storage Areas (CSA) for the materials they will store on site. Multiple CSAs may be required for flammable or combustible materials, cylinders or bulk liquids depending upon the types and hazards of materials being stored. The CMC verifies that chemicals/materials are labeled in accordance with SFHP site-specific procedures. The CMC maintains a Microsoft Excel database to enable tracking of the on-site chemical inventory and produces reports in an established format to provide all necessary information to NRF Environmental for preparation of required regulatory reports. The CMC develops chemical management training requirements and materials.
Ancillary duties include preparation (technical writing) and/or review of project specific environmental plans and procedures, performing and documenting routine field compliance inspections, coordinating with project subcontractors to manage disposition of waste, and maintaining the Environmental Deficiency Tracking Log database. Duties also include support of the Environmental Compliance Coordinator (ECC) and the Waste Management Coordinator, as necessary. The CMC will report to the ECC. The work location for this position is the Naval Reactors Facility, Idaho National Lab, Idaho Falls, ID 83403-2008, approximately 55 miles WNW of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Here's What You'll Need:
3 tor more years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Adobe
Valid driver's license is required
USA citizenship is required (no dual-citizenship)
Technical writing skills (preferred)
In addition to the requirements above, the ideal candidate is in the vicinity of Idaho Falls.
Essential Functions:
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to construction equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel for semi-annual EPA Method 9 opacity training, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
