Job Description

　　Insight Global is looking for a Software Engineer to work for a DoD customer based out of Warren, MI. This team is responsible for developing robotic vehicles that can be driven remotely/autonomously. The primary goal of the Software Engineer is writing source code and integrating software applications/platforms to vehicles. This individual will be responsible for software development activities, architecting/designing software requirements, contributing to test plans/integrations on robotic systems. This is a hybrid role, and the candidate will be expected to work on site in Warren, MI as needed. The Software Engineer may also be asked to travel to DoD sites a few times per year for field support activities like troubleshooting, etc. This role will require a secret clearance and Insight Global will process the ideal candidate for an interim clearance!

　　Responsibilities Include:

　　* C++ software development -- 70% of time

　　* Testing/integration with testing team -- Roughly 30% of time

　　* EX: developing/implementing a laser vision/range finder on vehicle

　　o You will be Integrating/testing the software feature onto the robotic combat vehicle at a software integration lab

　　o You will also interact with a command/control system (User interface) to make sure your feature connects to the vehicle and functions properly

　　Skills and Requirements

　　* 3-5 years of experience as a software developer (post education)

　　* Previous C++ programming experience in an object oriented environment

　　* User interface experience or familiarity

　　o EX: QT framework, Windows MFC, Android, iOS, etc.

　　* Willingness to be hands on for testing/integration of software features

　　* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering related

　　* Agile experience

　　* Jira/Git familiarity

　　* Understand TCP/IP based networks and key concepts (DNS, unicast/multicast network topologies)

　　* Experience developing in Linux/Unix environments

　　* Familiar with basic UML concepts -- can document work via Sequence diagrams, class diagrams

　　* Familiarity interfacing with subsystems and ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems

　　* Ability to obtain a secret clearance * Experience with Service Oriented architecture concepts and Data Distribution Service -- DDS (Pub/Sub)
