Job Description Summary
The Business Coordinator I is responsible for all facets of domestic and foreign travel for the unit. This involves processing travel requests for faculty, staff, and students; This position will also provide support and coordination of a variety of business activities.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all facets of domestic and foreign travel for the department. This involves the processing of all travel requests for faculty, staff, and students; monitoring/ensuring compliance with federal, state, system, and agency travel regulations (i.e., airfare, mileage, lodging, car rental, meals, etc.); process all payments through concur. Resolve any issues regarding cash advances. Serve as liaison between the department and the TAMU and Texas A&M Agrilife Travel offices. Communicate travel policies and disseminate business information to faculty, staff, and students.
Responsible for maintaining detailed knowledge of disbursement rules and procedures for Texas A&M University, AgriLife Extension and AgriLife Research. Performs monthly reconciliation of procurement card purchases.
Payment Cards – monitor payment card activity and ensure timely submission of expense reports and management of orphaned transactions.
Travel Cards – monitor travel card activity and ensure timely submission of expense reports and management of orphaned transactions.
Provide assistance to other areas of the business office as needed (disbursements, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory); assist with fiscal year close out procedures and new fiscal year start-up activities; and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.-Two years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations .
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Interpersonal and communication skills. Planning and organizational skills.-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
