Producing designs and structural details for bridge projects in accordance with Design Standards and Codes.This Engineer will be a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Washington and shall have solid knowledge of engineering principles and codes and shall have experience with the design and detailing of bridge elements. This individual must also have the ability to use computer software for design and detailing, will be responsible for assisting in design and plan development tasks, performing structural analysis and design of a variety of bridge structure types.The Engineer will be able to work in a collaborative work environment and eager to learn from others, strongly values relationships and interaction with people, can maintain a balanced perspective about change and adapt when necessary, is an analytical thinker with above-average problem-solving skills, and has exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Responsibilities & QualificationsPerform engineering calculations, analysis and design of concrete and steel bridge structures and elements under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.Prepare plans, specifications and estimates in accordance with applicable design codes under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.Conduct independent quality control and quality assurance reviews under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.Perform quantity take-offs for development of engineering estimates.Prepare drawings, calculations and designs in accordance with company production and design standards and follow Quality Assurance and Control procedures.Other assignments as needed.Qualifications:Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.Professional Engineering license in the state of Washington.5+ years of professional experience.Experience with structural analysis and design of steel and concrete bridges and elements.Experience in preparing engineering calculations, structural drawings, details and ability to prepare specifications.Strong technical skills in structural analysis including seismic analysis, and design of various types of bridge structures. Experience with long-span bridges is an asset.Ability to work as part of a team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines.Working knowledge of design codes such as AASHTO, WSDOT BDM, etc.Ability to provide quality control/quality assurance to ensure deliverables are of high quality and on time.Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and engineering analysis and design software.Knowledge of SOFiSTiK, LARSA 4D, Adina, CSi Bridge, or MIDAS is an asset.Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is an asset.Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.Must possess communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective project team collaboration and relationship building.Excellent organizational skills.Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable wa
