Position Title Associate Director
Overview
Collaborate with the Director on all operations of the depanment, including budgeting and funding; facilities, programming, and strategic planning and implementation within the Feinstein Institute. Provide continuity and direction for the Feinstein Institute in the absence of the Director.
Essential Duties:
In conjunction with the Director, administer the staff, operations, and programs of the Feinstein Institute for Public Service and implement the Institute’s strategic vision and plan. Collaborate with the Director on department budget, facilities, strategic planning, and implementation. Oversee and supervise all full-time staff and provide general oversight to GA’s assigned to the Institute. Act as chief liaison to the College’s transportation department in communicating all transportation needs of the Institute and assist in managing the overall demand for transportation related to the lnstitute’s programs and initiatives. In conjunction with the Director, participate in grant writing, grant administration, and fundraising. Build strong relationships with campus stakeholders that are imperative to the lnstitute’s work, including Financial Aid, Payroll, Institutional Research, Office of Institutional Diversity, Campus Ministry, the Provost’s office, Student Affairs, and others. Represent the Feinstein Institute on the College’s Standing Committee on Service helping this committee “map” academic and co-curricular community engagement. Serve on other committees as appropriate.
Cultivate and maintain community partnerships and relationships in support of the lnstitute’s programs and the college’s academic community engagement (curricular community-based learning and community-based research, faculty- and student-driven community-engaged scholarship). Recruit, select, supervise, and coordinate the professional development of Feinstein Community Fellows (a team of student liaisons with critical community partners for academic community engagement), including oversight of the orientation and preparation process and transportation support. Work with the Program Coordinator to maintain existing partnerships and develop new ones for the off campus “community service” component of the college’s federal work-study program, provide oversight of the program. Develop and assess programming to support student learning and reflection in the Feinstein Community Fellows work-study programs. Facilitate training and reflective practice for, and maintain regular communication with, community partners for the purpose of strengthening partnerships, including partner capacity and deepening collaboration and impact. Represent the College at community meetings related to academic community engagement.
In conjunction with the Director, facilitate regular reflective practice opportunities for Feinstein staff, students, and partners engaging with the Institute, in service of continuous improvement, innovation, and deeper and more reflective learning. Develop annual assessment outcomes, indicators, and measures, and carry out assessments and report findings as needed. Evaluate all community partnerships, programs, and student engagement through written evaluations, site visits, and/or other mechanisms. Collect, tabulate, analyze, and interpret service data, and complete surveys and requests for service data. Oversee the production of thee-newsletter and develop brochures for the Feinstein Institute for Public Service, as required. Design, maintain, and oversee the lnstitute’s web page and social media accounts.
Convene and connect campus and community stakeholders, facilitate conversations, conferences, workshops, and professional development aligned to the lnstitute’s statement of purpose and key questions. Serve as a connector, convener, consultant for faculty and administrators in developing reciprocal relationships with community partners connected to their courses, research interests, and co-curricular programs. Work with the Director and others to provide workshops for faculty interested in incorporating community based service or research into their courses,

Education and Experience Required
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in related field required
Minimum of five years’ of experience in community based service learning or experiential education or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to build relationships and collaborations in the campus community, as well as in the local community
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to manage and inspire staff and student leaders/workers
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience in conflict resolution
Knowledge and/or experience in a nonprofit environment and experience in higher education

Salary Grade 21 (Min. $73,292/Mid. $95,279/Max. $117,266)
Salary Information
Employees are normally hired between the minimum and the midpoint of a position’s grade range to which a position has been assigned, depending on experience and qualifications.
