About Associate - Cyber and Technology Risk

The WTW Cyber and Technology Risk Team is unlike anything you have seen before. We are risk, insight, data, and strategy driven. We deliver broad consulting and support services to help our clients assess, manage, and respond to technology, cyber, and data exposures. Our consulting expertise is combined with unrivalled insurance market knowledge and placement capabilities.

Our team draws on expertise from recognised leaders in technology law, information security, insurance, cyber incident response, data modelling, risk analytics, dispute resolution, and risk consulting. This allows us to create cutting-edge tools and deliver unique consulting and insurance services.

This is a role where no two days will be the same. You will be at the forefront of some of the fastest-moving industries in the region and be given a platform to build your reputation and expertise across our client engagement, insurance placement, advisory and consulting work.

NOTE: This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

  The Role

This role focuses on becoming a key member within our insurance and advisory practice and supporting the range of services we deliver to clients. The successful candidate will help drive our insurance work and participate in the team’s consulting and advisory projects.

We are seeking someone with a strong work ethic, who can be trained to grow and become a future leader within our business. Key elements of this role will include:

Helping clients understand critical technology risks and their needs across risk consulting, advisory and insurance placement

Functioning as a key resource on cyber accounts within the practice by participating in strategic planning, technical subject matter expertise, and claims processes

Supporting the placement of large, complex programs in the financial lines marketplace

Publication of thought leadership, articles and participation in third-party conferences and educational events run by the team

Engagement and coordination in consulting, advisory and risk-led opportunities

Manage and support pipeline, prospects and financial reporting

  Developing deep knowledge across cyber risk management, regulatory and legal risks, emerging technologies, and data governance;

Developing expertise across a broad range of insurance products (Cyber, IT Liability, FinTech, D&O, Professional Indemnity)

Participation in wording drafting and manuscript insurance policy development

Working with third-party and industry stakeholders across a broad range of initiatives

  The Requirements

As our team plays at the boundary of cyber, technology risk, insurance and the law, candidates should have some experience in some of these areas. Understanding of legal risk and regulatory requirements will also be beneficial.

A good understanding of risk management, insurance claims or broking will be beneficial to the candidate; however, this is not a requirement. This role is an investment into a future leader for our team. We will consider a wide variety of candidates who display the right attitude, work ethic, passion, and collaborative behaviours. Candidates from across Australia will also be considered.

Preferred skills for the role include:

Undergraduate degree in Law, Information Technology, Cyber Security or Commerce

  Strong research skills

Someone who takes initiative and is a proactive learner

Leadership and a strong willingness to take ownership

Strong drafting ability, presentation skills, attention to detail and accuracy

The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive approach

Experience in underwriting, insurance law, broking or claims

Technical knowledge of insurance contracts and structure

Note: Employment-based visa sponsorship and/or assistance is not offered for this specific job opportunity.
