　　Summary of Position:

　　Sports Communication at Ferris is a dynamic, interdisciplinary program that works closely with the Ferris Athletic Department, which boasts nationally ranked D1 and D2 teams. The Sports Communication program offers three degree levels: Bachelor of Science, Minor and Certificate. The program is rooted and housed in the Communication discipline within the Department of Humanities, and it includes one of the following emphases: Social Media and Digital Communication, Multimedia Journalism, Integrated Marketing Techniques, or Event Management.As the Sports Communication "champion," the finalist will participate in recruitment activities, advise students, coordinate program-related activities, and collaborate with campus and community partners. The finalist will be expected to teach a 4-4 load of classes and direct internships or practicum/research projects. Required teaching assignments include Sports Communication and Seminar in Sports Communication (both project-based); and at least one of the core General Education Communication courses: Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and/or Small Group Decision Making.
