Description:
Melville-based Civil Engineering firm is looking for an architect with 4+ years of commercial design experience to join their team. This role will be working on the design of commercial projects such as corporate offices, warehouses, fast-food locations and convenience and retail stores like Burger Kings and 7/11s. Candidate should be proficient with AutoCAD, and be able to handle and complete multiple projects in an efficient manner. The role will involve working on all phases of a project at various times but will primarily involve CDs. Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development phases of small to medium-sized commercial projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including detailed plans, specifications, and schedules, to facilitate project execution.
Work closely with clients to understand their vision, goals, and constraints, and translate them into innovative and functional architectural solutions.
Ensure all designs and construction documents adhere to relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of architectural elements into the overall project.
Implement quality control processes to review and verify the accuracy and completeness of design documents and specifications.
Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with design intent.
Assist in project budgeting and cost estimation, providing input on cost-effective design solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
4+ years of experience working on small to medium-sized commercial projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
Strong understanding of building systems, construction methodologies, and materials.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
